What is Vibroacoustic Sound Therapy?

Vibroacoustic therapy is based on the principle that life is vibration. Matter, including the human body, vibrates all the time, at various frequencies. Sound and music also vary in frequency. Therefore, when the various frequencies of sound and/or music are converted to vibration which is introduced to the human body, it can be utilized to bring the body into a state of healthy resonance.

Vibroacoustic therapy has been around for over 40 years and can be used with any other therapy. Many people cannot tolerate a traditional physical touching massage session but can use the vibroacoustic massage bed.

It is a safe, drug-free, non-invasive way to improve quality of life. It helps you to relax to allow the healing to start. Use of the vibroacoustic bed does not diagnose, cure or treat disease; it provides deep cellular stimulation to skin, muscle, joints, and nerves. Researchers have observed decreased pain and increased mobility.

How does it work?

You lie on a specially designed waterbed that transmits sound vibrations. Frequencies surround and envelope you, as you relax. You “feel” the sound as it radiates throughout the bed and your entire body. Sessions are either 15 minutes, 35 minutes, or 45 minutes. The body receives a deep cellular internal massage. In that way, organs deep in the body that we cannot reach by traditional methods – nerves, glands, heart, lungs, deep-lying blood vessels, myofascial and brain tissue, are stimulated and massaged through the sound vibrations.

Who can benefit from Vibroacoustic Therapy?

Vibroacoustic sound therapy has proven to have significant results benefiting human health both physiologically and mentally. The low vibrations increase cellular movement, thus increasing energy and cellular regeneration in the body. Consequently, inflammation and pain are reduced because of this treatment. With the addition of music, patients are able to have an increase in relaxation and a decrease in psychological disturbances such as depression, anxiety, and nausea.

Vibroacoustic Therapy has been safely used for decades without any significant adverse effects, and there are few risks associated with treatment. However, there are some contraindications that clients need to be aware of.
